Allen Carr - who was a cool and righteous dude - has died. He was 72 and died of lung cancer. He devised the "Easyway" for giving up smoking in '83 which he used to quit his 100 a day habit and went on to help 20,000,000 other people (including me) give up too.

His book was very clever and I have advocated it to many people who have also given up for good - but I wont ever tell people how it works. If you smoke, and want to give up, I urge you to buy his book (its only £8) and read it. It'll change your life.

Thanks Allen - sorry it got you in the end buddy - but as you said - you had twenty odd years you wouldnt have had if you had kept smoking!
