Dude- I too am on holiday today.  Jut today though.... and Monday and Tuesday.  More of a skive, really if I'm honest.  Have a goood time!

We regret to inform you that And's powers of summation are currently malfunctioning due to her being at the hospital until 5am EST. While she appears to be awake to those who walk past, she is currently zoning out at her desk while pretending to work. She will be more than happy to sum things up once she has regained consciousness and/or has taken caffiene intravenously.

Well, you know... once a criminal, always a criminal.


Ok, so rest assured that I am fine. I was in the hospital visiting, not getting medical attention.


My cousin's in the hospital with some weird bacterial infection thats resistant to antibiotics. She's been in the hospital for almost 4 weeks now. Last night they had to go and do an ileostomy or she wouldn't have lived another 24 hours. It's not pretty... and since I'm the only relative within 1200 miles I spend most of my free time driving the 1 1/2 hrs to the hospital to check on her and her 10 year old daughter.


So I have no idea if she's going to make it. They have her on antibiotics they use for aids patients cuz those are the strongest available, and still it's done nothing. There's been no real improvement in the past 4 weeks... and last year her granddad died of the same thing... and once he was in the hospital, he only lasted 6 weeks.


I think the saddest part of all of this is she's only 29... and her daughter already lost her dad (he was murdered when she was 4).. now she might lose her mom too.


 


And now that I've officially depressed the hell out of everyone, I'll go back to my coffee

Someone had to stay in and mind the office while he was off too.  I wonder who that was, all alone with the Welsh boss..   Any guesses?

Well hopefully the fact that she's quite young will go in her favour.  Give her all our best wishes (even though she'll have no idea who we are) - we'll say a prayer for her tonight!

Yup.  Don't forget though - last week was the first holiday I'd had all year.  I'm a hard worker, me!


Picked the right day for it though.  Glorious sunshine all day!  No idea what the temperature was today, but it was hot.  Damn hot!  Far to hot to be mowing the lawn.  But I did anyway! And I wore shorts!
