New Truck

Well, I broke down and got me a new truck!

Here it is in my garage:

I think the best word to describe it is: Menacing.

Beware the Cherokee SRT8!!!.

Menacing, indeed.  Especially the way I can't see the actual truck in the picture on account of it being black and in the dark.  I think we need to see a nice off-road picture - show it off in it's full glory, dude!

Some people here in the States use Truck and SUV interchangeably.

Very nice Nate. Beware indeed!

SUV indeed! Didn't really mean to imply pickup truck...

Waiting on the Twin Sister for an outdoorsey shot! Not quite sure what her hangup is...

Thanks, Brian! It's a hoot to drive!!

Wheels and brakelights - very cool - all cool things must be shiny and have lights...

We can with purty. Rugged, menacing manliness comes into play when it's not in park!!

This is SRT8 vs. Corvette:

Now to be fair, the person driving the 'Vette aint too bright, you don't spin your wheels at the line like that!!! Rookies...

SRT8 vs. Camaro:

Camaros, not stock at least, do not stand a chance.

And SRT8 vs. Porche Caymen:

Much smaller version of a 911, little guy.

This is Truck taking on Sports Cars!!! Vroom! Beware the SRT8!!!

I like it Nate, I like A LOT

I love watching these guys in sports cars get blown the hell out during a race. Pompous asses. My friends brother used to have a very modded El Camino that he would smoke people with. Very funny.

Hmm.  Either that is avarey large truck, or you live in the land of the pygmies.  It looks bigger'n the house!  And the picture was clearly taken by someone about 2 feet tall!

you are most welcome

also, yes i've noticed trucks in the usa tend to be the norm - our wee cars here in the uk pretty much get swallowed up by the roads.. altho some are making a name for themselves (go the mini!)

I always liked the little Mini-Coopers when I was stationed in West Germany in the sixties (I was a bit more limber then)...I remember a guy that spent his re-enlistment bonus on a Cooper S...The BMW version we have here now don't impress me much (I think of them as speed bumps)...Ben

So, we may have ha this conversation before, but where do you intend to drive this then?  Because it's looking very like a gas-guzzling Chelsea Tractor to me.

I mean I'm not saying it oesn't have a certain coolness, just looks a tad unneccesary for everyday driving.

yeah i'm all about my 45miles per gallon tank.. but then the usa pay about a quarter of what we do (and the media moans a whole lot more) for petrol/gas so i guess they can afford it

I could stand some higher fuel mileage myself...My truck gets 15.5 mpg around town and I drive 40-50 miles a day...At $2.75 a gallon for diesel, it's costing me $8-9 a day just to go to work and back...Ben

I think my car would fit in the back of yours, Ben.  Can I have a lift?

$8-9 a day...  what's that £5-6?  It costs me £5 to get to and from work every day by bus.  Cheaper than parking in the centre of Bristol though, which costs between £8 and £12 a day, depending on whether you can make it back to your car within 8 hours of parking it 3 miles from the office...

Big truck!!

Took a couple of crotch-rockets off the street light, on a highway, the other day... I think they were a little surprised!

One of them caught up to me at about 60 mph, doing a full-on wheelie!!
