RE: My Little Pony

It's more creative than numbering roads.

Hey - the road into Bristol is called Cheltenham Road - then it's name changes to Gloucester Road!!

We even have The Old Gloucester Road - it goes to Bristol too.

I get that logic.

These are major highways, I = interstate (I guess 35W is really I-35).

Ah - you see - 'M' roads are Motorways - really big roads (not as big as your freeways though!) 'A' roads are main roads 'B' roads are smaller ones.  All the really little ones just have names.

Ugh you want to talk about confusing roads...

When I first came down here for my job interview I was given directions to a work party so I could meet people in the company. Well I was told to take US1 north to the Pineda Causeway. I had only been in the state for about an hour, but the directions seemed easy enough, so I hopped into my rental car and headed up US1.

As it turns out, there are three causeways in the area - Pineda Causeway, Eau Gallie Causeway and Melbourne Causeway. However, these roads are only known as causeways to those that have lived here for a billion years or so, so there's no street signs that say "causeway" anywhere. I spent an hour and a half driving up and down US1 searching for a sign that said Pineda Causeway only to find out it's labeled "I404" on street signs. Eau Gallie is I518 and Melbourne is I192. Absolute insanity. And of course, when I finally arrived at the party, no one could figure out why this was so complicated for me.

Oh, oh, oh, I've been there, I've been there.

That's only 2 or so miles from where my Daddy was born. Oh, oh.  It's beautiful, you have to go there, it's amazing.
