Very offensive to the Turkish apparently, due to their phallic nature (the cucumbers that is, not the Turkish).  They should instead be described as "salad things"

Well I presume the Turks feel no need to be as euphamistic in regard to tomatoes or lettuce.

Sod the Turks, I like CUCUMBER SANDWICHES.


Ain't nothing wrong with CUCUMBERS. CUCUMBERS are goooood.


Do they have similar problems with BANANAS? Or MARROWS? Or LEEKS? Or CARROTS? Or COURGETTES? Or ASPARAGUS?


(Personally I find courgettes pretty offensive.)
