RE: How geeky are you?

Er...

Well on the widely used Fonzerelli Scale of Coolness, Nate clearly comes out on top; however if you use the Jimsian Measure, which scientists prefer as it's somewhat more precise, Sharon is the obvious choice for top dog.

And I'm not saying the girls don't like our Katie.  I'm just saying that more of 'em like Nate.

Ooh, does it count for the cornflake bit if I only like them in cornflake cakes?

Hmm.  Unusual to use the cornflake scale to measure coolness.  But it works for me.  I concur.

Sorry Nate mate.  You seem to have been deposed already...

Ah, buggrit, failed the Cornflake test...

Well, true. I do not care for a certain fruit, often confused with vegetables, and often eaten in a vegetably context, such as our wonder sandwich, that being the tomato.

Yeah, call me odd, but no, crusty, moldy, grey smelly cheese, that tastes like ammonia, is definitely not for me.

Who eats crusty, moldy, grey, smelly foodstuffs that taste like toxic, cleaning agents?!?! Seriously? Tastes like ammonia?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonia

It is toxic and corrosive to some materials, and has a characteristic pungent odor.

And included in 'some materials' are people:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002759.htm

Expectations (prognosis)

Survival past 48 hours usually indicates recovery will occur. If chemical burns occurred in the eye, they frequently heal; however, permanent blindness may result.

Surely this stuff is not fit for human consumption, my dog wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole!! Why would anyone eat such a thing? Pretty dodgy stuff...

Posted by: Nate in another thread.

It is pale in color with a slight greyish tinge under crusty white mould; very soft and savoury with a hint of ammonia. The white mouldy rind is tasteless and edible.

I'm not entirely sure I agree with this description though, dude.  Can't say I've ever compared it directly to ammonia in laboratory conditions, but I've eaten my fair share of brie over the years and never suffered any horrific burns.

It ain't my favourite cheese.  My favourite cheese is cheddar.  Extra mature cheddar.  Mmmmmmmmmm...

I love cross-posting and thread hijacking.  It rocks!

I'm off to find a cheese smiley.

Well, not anymore, he bought the farm.

My twin sister has one, little Frankie, and he's kind of like my dog when I visit, which isn't very often...

There was a cheese stall in the bristol market yesterday. It was full of strange and wonderful foreign cheese. Some of it was as big as my head.

It's not so much a full on cheese shop as it is an excessively large cheese area in the organic market near me. They've got 4 or 5 people working the area that know more about every kind of cheese then you ever thought possible. It's truely an experience.
