Paint.Net

This wicked-cool freeware from Microsoft that implements GDI algorithms for image editing.

Here's the schpeil:

And here's the download:

Be sure to check out the features and screenshots. This is wicked-cool and if you're using a PC, like you should be, do yourself a favour and check it!!

Sure is, dude, check out the schpeil:

"And there is more!  Paint.NET will revolutionize how people work with graphics.  No longer is there any need to purchase expensive software packages to develop eye-catching web pics, Paint.NET has you covered!  Everything from advanced graphics development (such as using layers, transparency, and special effects), to simple mundane tools as pencil and text insertion will all be easily UA Timeible to the user.  Note that this isn't the only job qualification for Paint.NET.  Flexibility is the name of this game.  You can easily use this application to edit any type of picture from any source."

And GDI algorithms are money in the bank, they helped me clean up the red-eye in my blind-date pic, big-time! And I haven't had much success dealing with red-eye in the past... This is super-cool!

The catch is to be running Windows XP (with .Net services installed, which is provided for you at the download if you do not have it installed for some reason)...

Incidentally, I think you should consider my, rather large, hint a little more diligently.

It looks pretty sweet. And what is really sweet, and that you don't see, is that under-the-hood, Paint.Net is implementing a lot of GDI algorithms to accomplish its/your tasks.

GDI is the latest group of algorithms that Microsoft has designed to work with graphics and it's pretty tight:

Complex to use on your own, but a snap with Paint.Net.

This is sweet!
