I'm unlikely to get a bonus worth talking about.  No-one got one last year and the year before that they stretched £4.75 between 25 of us.

That's just insulting.. like my friend who got a $.10 raise. They gave him a raise, but it was a slap in the face. He quit shortly thereafter.

There are several internal political issues that mean that pay and bonus pots are minimal to the point of being non-existent in my part of the business.  It sucks, but that's the cost of doing something that 'makes a difference'.


(I'm in the fraud department, for those that don't know.  I have theiving b*stards locked up for a living.  It's cool!)

I have never gotten a year end bonus. Thats a government job for you I guess. In the 3 1/2 years I have been there I have gotten a 3% raise and a 2% raise. They even owed me about 18 months of back pay last year amounting in about $8000. Do you think I got interest? Hell no. It was their fault too, they were paying me at the wrong rate from the beginning.

Perhaps I should have qualified my comment a bit, though. I was thinking of the Canadian govt., which might be worse. Stuff that mattered in their case includes things like base salary...


Good hours, though.


The more I talk with other people about their jobs, the more I like mine. Should do this more often.
