Bavarian beaver...

On a similar subject, anyone heard anything on the rumour that wolves are to be re-introduced in parts of Scottish countryside?

Sounds a bit much, but I definitely heard it somewhere.  How much more exciting would that make a fishing trip up the hills?

You may be sucessfully resisting the temptation, but I'm not...

The beaver was hunted to extinction for its fur and the pain-relieving properties of its anal gland secretions.

You have a headache, eh?  Lick two beaver's arses and have a lie-down.  You'll be right as rain in a matter of minutes.

Heh.  That's right up there with that plan to reintroduce big cats to North America.  What can possibly go wrong?

Well... your average murderer hardly ever kills people.  They usually only ever do it the once.  On that basis, maybe we shouldn't keep sendin' 'em to prison!

Personally I canny wait for it to happen, I live right at the foot of the hills and constantly have to put up with escaped coo's and sheeps wandering down the street, it would be nice to see something a bit more exotic!

Indeed.  The odd half eaten sheep corpse will make a nice addition to your back garden!

They've already been working on re-introducing wolves to North America.  Apparently has quite a wide, positive impact.  Something about controlling the elk population, which will allow certain trees to grow more, which impacts something about erosion near streams ... I'll have to look it up for all the details.

Anyway, point is, they're already doing just that in this part of world.  The wolves thingy.

So...

They're using wolves to control stream erosion?  Nice.
