The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So, I spent this morning in A&E (ER for you cross-ponders) after bravely rescuing a wandering dog.
Ermm, you didn't want to know that she was the sweetest little cavelier king charles & my injury was sustained tripping over a kerb whilst carrying her back to safety, did you? The broken toe still hurts .
Have been busily googling & turns out there's loads you can do to speed up the healing & despite there being plenty of research, for some reason you don't get told this stuff. So, it's out with the ibuprofen (which I was recommended to take!), sugar, coffee & alcohol & in with shed loads of plant proteins & veg, extra vitamin & mineral supplements & comfrey root cream.
Stubbed? STUBBED! I have a fracture of my 4th proximal phalange, I have been warned the nail may fall off & never grow back & I have bruising from the tips of three of my toes, back to halfway up my foot, and you call that STUBBED?!!
But all worth it to know that Cindy is safe & sound & not roadkill :) She did take a bit of a flying lesson herself mind, but caught her again in mid air & she didn't seem too phased.
So you can juggle spaniels too? You are multi talented!
Regardless of the severity of the injury, which sounds very very painful, it was still ultimately caused by stubbing. Would it be better if I called it an Uberstub? Or a Megastub? Or a Catastrostub? Or a Disastub?
Do you have a picture of your injury? I have a morbid fascination with injuries...
Not of the x-ray, but I did take some of the bruising before re-taping it this morning, I'll go & download. I should warn you in advance though, the luminous blue bruise on the foot only properly shows in outside light, so you won't really see that.
Oh, & I still refute stubbing. Stubbing surely involves the end of the toe(s) making violent contact with a hard object/surface? I smashed the top of the toes against the kerb.
'Scuse the state of the nail varnish! Has to be said that the bruises really haven't photoed well, but do note that the toe is normally much smaller than that!
Why was this thread closed? Was my sympathy quota full, or did someone press the wrong button? Fracture clinic today & doc reckons 6 weeks before I'll be running again, which totally sucks :( Hopefully I'll prove him wrong, but will have to see.
Well, have just proved the doctor wrong by running :) Only a few steps mind, & shall be building up VERY slowly, but running none the less. Guess he maybe was talking about running with shoes on. He definitely said I could do anything that didn't hurt though & it didn't hurt.

Seems to be improving at a reasonable rate. This was taken on Saturday, a week after the last pic, as you can see, swelling on toe & foot both greatly reduced. The running didn't last long though :( Think it was just raised off the ground by the swelling before, so impact free, sadly no longer the case.
It is pointing in a different direction to all your other toes though. Is that going to be a permanent thing? Are you going to have one stupid toe for the rest of your life?
The nail hasn't fallen off yet. When does that happen?
