What to get?

So for xmas I can get a psp or xbox 360.

Thing is I want to see the ps3 before deciding on a next gen consol, I already have a ps2 and am now stuck to make a decision for xmas.

What are your thoughts?

Ive seen the game trailers for the ps3, awsome!

Im holding out for one instead of getting a 360, have a ps2 as well and 1 of my fave games is killzone, when i saw killzone 2 for ps3 my mind was made up!

Get a psp in the meantime though, socom 3 is out for it soon i think.

Well from a purely technical standpoint, I understand that the PS3 is gonna be higher spec than the 360, which suggests that the games are gonna be better.  Playstation have always had a good range of games anyway.

I'm tempted to wait to see the Nintendo Revolution, myself - Nintendo always have the bestest games, but they have a nasty habit of indulging in crappy marketing.  The new controller looks pretty... er... interesting.

PSPs are cool.  I kinda want one myself but there's no way I can justify it.

That said, there's a lot to be said for woolie jumpers.  I would point out that any loved one who buys you a jumper rather than an overpriced gadget clearly doesn't love you enough.

The new Nintendo controller looks really uncomfortable to use for any length of time... maybe I'm missing something with how its used, but it doesn't look like that was the way to go as far as controllers are concerned..

Like I said.  Interesting.  I understand that you hold it like a TV remote and wave it around rather than use a analogue stick.  This site has lots of into and a link to a video of it in action.  It'sll either be very very cool or very very crap.

It'sll? Sucking back on Grandpa's cough syrup, then, DD?

Heh, not much room in the middle then, eh?

I'm going guess: Very, very crap.

Also, no need to muck around with all of this new-fangled gaming crap; go hook yourself up with c64 Emulator, and you're all set:

either spend the money on a nice pc (consoles are only for playing on when you get back from the pub) or save it for the nintendo.

(proud SNES, N64 and GameCube owner)

SuperMarioKart anyone?

The SNES version of Mario Kart was the best, I still have it and play it regularly. I can still put up some wiked times on Rainbow Road Special Cup

I like my Gamecube.  And my N64.  And the SNES that I used to play around a friends house.  And all versions of Mariokart rock... but especially the SNES one... which I was crap at!

sweet - rainbow road is the best - but Ghost Valley 1 is the one where shaving 0.01 seconds of your best mate's (worst enemy's) time is the most satisfying
