Well, I finally got rid of this turd, I think.

I had it a few times, following all kinds of bloody steps, but like a bad lingering fart, it just kept re-assaulting my machine. Game-time was clearly over...

Major home system upgrade, now Running AVG & Avast for viruses, with Microsoft AntiSpyware in the background, with Spybot and Ad-Aware selectively run. Finally got the full Win XP SP2 up and running and SP3 for Office XP, and ran McAffee's stinger, to be sure.

While I was at it, I also upgraded to MS Media Player 10, which is much cooler than 8 for a few big reasons, including some much fatter sound options.

Avast and Spybot proved to be nowhere near enough for the crap some people come up with... Avast is pretty kack actually, but I'll leave it running for now.... Think I'm digging AVG, though. PokaPoka is out of here and my **** is running tight!
