Digital Lego Designer

So cool.  I shall be downloading this when I get home.

Which reminds me...

We had a discussion in the office yesterday about whether you could build a habitable house out of lego.  Now, I firmly believe that you can build anything out of lego, so a real house shouldn't be a problem.

What do y'all think?

That's always been a dream of mine. I was addicted to legos as a kid.

Now I just wonder if I can build one secure enough to withstand hurricanes

I think everyone should get on the designer and build something really cool.  Then post it here so it can be mocked and derided by all and sundry!

Personally I think if lego's were heavier/square inch they would be stronger than bricks and mortar for withstanding hurricanes because they actually snap together. Now this could also be the downfall of the lego house especially for earthquakes and/or hurricanes because I would think that a house needs to be able to give/shift a little to absorb some of the energy of the earthquake/hurricane instead of being rigid like a lego house would be. I think further tests are needed, scale model time!

Im pretty sure brick houses dont have any 'give' in them but I may be wrong...

Snap together house bricks are a great idea - problem is that Plastic isnt really weather proof, i.e. heat and cold extremes tend to screw them over...

Brittle plastic bricks holding your roof up aint good!
