might be moving to Glasgow for a bit, and wondered where might be good to live, considering we have to take a cat with us

The way I hear it, that cat is meaner than any Glaswegians it might come across...

It depends on what your looking in Glasgow, is it to be a short or long term move?

12 months or so - currently looking in West end which seems nice enough, if a little poncy and not ideal for moggies.

Check this freakoid out:

Yes, the company I work for has been given lots of cash by the Scottish Executive to set up an office in a 'deprived area'. They chose Glengarnock, near Beith.

Now they want sensible people (hahahahahaha) to go up there for a bit to help set it up.

Mty priority is the cat and the ability to get to the M8 without too much trouble in the mornings, however Mrs. Santa wants to be able to walk to posh cafe's and stuff with baby santa while i'm at work.

Cost isn't really an issue as my company will be paying (within reason)

Cool, what does your company do? And the West End Is probably your best bet but be warned the M8 is murder at rush hour with the on and off ramps something like the second busiest stretch of moterway in Europe.

we're environmental consultants - help people stick up wind turbines and that sort of thing.

We were up there last weekend to get a feel for the place, and despite the ladies on Bothwell street jumping into strange men's cars for some reason, and the smackhead who screamed at me after i stepped on a squeezy bottle of water which squirted her while she was hiding, doing something, in a disused phone box, we quite liked the place....

Most likely to be moving in mid November or so, but already starting to try and get a feel for what sort of property is avaliable. My journey west on the M8 at 7 or so am wasn't too bad, was that exceptional? (from Jn 18 to the A737 and then south)
