The Daily Mail Strikes Back

Yeah, I know. the Daily Mail sucks. Booooooo. Hisssss.

I wouldn't normally go out of my way to visit their website, but whilst browsing another forum, I can across this story, which I feel typified the dirty rag:

EU to ban selling eggs by the dozen: Shopkeepers' fury as they are told all food must be weighed and sold by the kilo
British shoppers are to be banned from buying eggs by the dozen under new regulations approved by the European Parliament.
For the first time, eggs and other products such as oranges and bread rolls will be sold by weight instead of by the number contained in a packet.
Until now, Britain has been exempt from EU regulations that forbid the selling of goods by number. But last week MEPs voted to end Britain’s deal despite objections from UK members.
The new rules will mean that instead of packaging telling shoppers a box contains six eggs, it will show the weight in grams of the eggs inside, for example 372g.

As you can imagine, the article goes Ariston and on and on and on giving outraged examples and outraged commentary and outraged quotes from outraged pundits all because the EU wants the weight of the product printed on the packaging... like most products do anyway.

You wait... next week, the ink that they use to print the weight on the packaging will give you cancer. And it'll be the fault of all those immigrants, dammit!

Ahhh... the Daily Mail.
