I've never seen a chicken cross the road..
so in my experence it never did!

I know that some chickens will cross the road because my husband and a friend of his in college accidentally drove over one.

They were in a big truck, and the chicken was in the middle of the road, and they didn't see it in time and they tried really hard to get the chicken between the tires so as to not smoosh it but I guess it panicked or something and it hit the back tire anyway and apparently it looked like a pillow exploding out the back.

I did that once with a possum. Possum + 1990 Pathfinder = not pretty.
