Keith Floyd R.I.P.

This board is turning into a mausoleum.

Anywhoo... I just read that the esteemed Mr Floyd died of a heart attack last night. He was truly the mightiest of our clebrity chefs and certainly the only one worth watching! Ben and Jackie probably won't even know who he was. Youtube can probably help with that:

He opened his first restaurant in the mighty city of Bristol. Also his contributions to celebrity chefism were incalculable.

It is a sad day - what with Patrick Swizzle popping his clogs also - probably a better actor than we gave him credit for sometimes -

Saddest story of the day for me is the death of Darren Sutherland, a 27 year old boxer who won bronze for us in China and had just started his pro career. He looked very handy at middleweight and everyone had a lot of good things to say about him out of the ring also.

For whatever reason, he chose to hang himself - which is a shame -

RIP to all three of them, they all contributed in their own ways !

And Christian Povenda. Probably the greatest contributer of 'em all. I only read about his rather brutal death this morning!

Wow - he was a brave guy - have you seen La Vida Loca? sounds like quite a film to watch!

Don't think it's out yet. If I remember right it was due out in France about now, although I should think it'll be delayed. You might see it in the Watershed some time before Christmas.

Chances are you'll see some of his work as part of a late night channel 4 tribute in the next few weeks, if you're lucky. He's not exactly mainsteam!

Keith was a true legend, and himself to the last. I remember watching him with my Mum just after tea and becoming fascinated with cooking. I still refer to his books and videos (OK, I should replace with DVD, but hey)

A legend.

Keith, this quick slurp is for you!
