The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
I had lunch with three Americans yesterday. They were moaning about the UK (again..). This time, however, not about UK food or UK teeth, but instead about UK TV. Incredulous, I asked them what they found unacceptable about our telly?? It is like comparing The Odyssey to the Teletubbies, said I.
Needless to say, I was barked down. There were more of them.
I thought for the most part television on either side was pretty comparable? Cept you guys have better shows most of the time. A lot of the shows over here that people drool all over are simply knock offs (mostly poorly done) of shows you guys already have. ([/end buttkissing])
I'm not a big TV watcher either way. My experience with UK television is limited to what was available in the hotels we were in. While there wasn't too much on generally speaking. I was introduced to My Family, and Graham Norton, and the boy and I got heavily involved in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series... While I have the 205 channels, one of the channels in heavy rotation is the BBC..
I didn't vote, but yeah. That's my answer.
What were the silly Americans saying they disliked so much?
TV is bad - since Mrs. Santa has been away I've honestly not switched it on, preferring to get my edutainment through the radio (Radio 4 ROCKS - bet thats not been said here before in such a macho way) and t'interweb - simple, have not missed a single thing.

That's what I mean - it would seem that now-a-days things are pretty much even on either side. You get our stuff, and we try to mimic your stuff and fail horrifically!
If you're looking for a lot of choice - on EITHER side - and all you have is a basic tv package (don't know how they do it over there) you'll probably be hard pressed to find something that you enjoy watching. When you pay for the 200 channels, there's still nothing really worth watching, but at least you've got more choice of nothing to watch.
Would you ever see an Oscar winning actor on an American soap? No. But when it comes to Coronation Street (which is terrific), they are pounding the door down.
Question is, will the Master of Magnetism use his mutant powers to destroy the Rovers Return? or will he just wave his staff around and make doom laden predictions?

Hmmm, uncut, uncensored, Chris Rock on Comedy Central was pretty good last Saturday night.

yeah our american representation falls shorter than the brits.. however, i voted for american, if i'm bored, i just have to flick thru all of them and that gives me hours of entertainment on it's own
