My job is normally very interesting but...

I just went to a very very boring seminar.

I was so bored, I am still bored.  It might take some considerable effort to dislodge the boredom.

ps yawning is contagious.  I expect you are all yawning in symapthy.

Guess what I'm doing.

Nope... not white water rafting.  Not riding the Oblivion ride at Alton Towers.  Not even skydiving from 50000 feet.

No, I am engaged in the exciting task of updating the tables in an Access Database.

I'm not bored at all.

I am so bored I can't think of anything even remotely interesting to say.

Sorry.

Would you like me to regale you with tales of relational databases and queries and macros and stuff?

How about a precis of the Basel II accord, which deals with Operational Loss Management in the Financial Services Industry?

Or (and I've saved the best 'til last here) I could describe the drying process of paint to you.

You could try explaining to me how two such similar work days, i.e., this Tuesday and Wednesday, can feel so very different: Yesterday I came home full of energy and a sense of extreme well-being, whereas today I could easily curl up in a ball and cry.

I tried to find a hug emoticon, but you might have to settle for a pet:

Not quite the same...

Are you sure the days were similar?  Might have been different in small (but important) ways.  Like the pet and hug emoticons..

You're right.  I think it was a single off hand comment that threw me.

A hug is always welcome.  Aren't enough hugs dished out if you ask me.
You could try this one:   it's from the smileys menu.

Right there with you King! I am busy (well bored actually) fixing some piece of crap database my old boss put together. One the worst little Access db's I have had to work on. There were around 10 or so tables and none of them related in any way. Too funny and a pain in my arse!

Like kitty litter?

It wasn't yucky kitty litter.. its just the stuff that they kick out of the box that gets everywhere.. like sand.. in the bed, in your clothes, in your shoes, etc.. but because its the clumping litter and we have it in the bathroom, the stuff they kick out clumps to the floor.

And turns to kitty litter cement.

I'm on a crap conference call. I've been hammering the crap out of Excel all day, running, erm, Database type stuff. Pivot tables, lookups, forecasting...

I need to find a better way to do what I'm after...
