My German housemate learnt a new English word today.  She was offered a 'biccy' in a meeting.


She has since announced this is the worst word she has ever heard, and was horrified to hear it uttered by many others in relation to the small plate of biscuits being offered round.  'Why?' I asked her.  Just sounds wrong, she said.  Wrong wrong wrong. 


Never has the word 'biccy' received so much attention.

Personally, despite being English and intimately familiar with the word, I would have deliberately misinterprested it to mean 'here, have a whole plate of delicios biscuit products' and wolfed them all down.  Mmmmmmm.  Biccies...
