The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
My kitty's been in the hospital for like a week now... they can't get her fever to come down... she's not eating again... they found a lump on one of her kidneys and a mass in her stomach when they did a sonogram... they think it might be cancer
I have to call the vet in an hour to get the results of the biopsy they did and I don't wanna... cuz I'm pretty sure it's going to be bad news
(Btw, this is Apache, the 8lb white calaco that I showed in the picture of my monster kitty yesterday)
And what's worse is... if I have to put her down, she's living with my mom at the moment.. so I can't be there with her
Apache has lymphocarcoma (pardon the spelling) which is basically cancer that has gotten into her lymphatic system. They can't cure it and at this point there are three options.
1. put her on chemotherapy, which is rather costly and may make her very sick and will only buy her a year at most
2. put her on pregnizone to control the fever and whatnot and will only buy her a few months
3. put her down
Because my mom has been dealing with the vet (since this is all going on in NY) she is calling the vet back to find out what kind of quality of life Apache would have on either of the two drugs before any final decision is made. It's tough because I'd like to keep her around, but at the same time I don't want to keep her around for selfish reasons or if she's going to suffer.
So.. the doc is supposed to call back once she gets out of surgery (not with my cat... someone else's) and give us more info about the quality of life on the drugs... and it'll go from there.
Just got a call from mom who gave me all the info from the doc. We talked it over and decided to go with option #2. Basically the chemo will give her no quality of life because they would have to do repeated surgical biopsies (and then theres recovery time from the surgery and whatnot) plus she'd be on the chemo for the entire year until her body just gives up bascially. And it won't cure anything.
The pregnizone is a steriod that will keep her comfortable, get rid of the fever, and possibly shrink the tumors (although not get rid of them) so she can live out her life comfortably at home... although she'll only have a few months left.
We decided not to put her down because, well, we figured if she wasn't suffering, it seemed like if we did it it would be killing her just for the sake of killing her. (Does that sound weird?) And we really don't want to do that.
So tomorrow, she's coming home so she can go back to her regular cat life... for as long as she wants to.
