it just ain't right

BBC ARTICLE

Top 10 Sketches

1. Little Britain: Lou & Andy - Swimming Pool
2. Monty Python's Flying Circus: Dead Parrot
3. The League of Gentlemen: Tubbs & Edward - Road Men
4. Little Britain: Vicky Pollard - Swimming Pool
5. The Two Ronnies: Four Candles
6. Goodness Gracious Me: Going For An English
7. Victoria Wood - As Seen On TV: Acorn Antiques - Original
8.The Morecambe & Wise Show: Breakfast
9. The Fast Show: Ted & Ralph - Drinking Game
10. Brass Eye: Good Aids/Bad Aids

Well... quite frankly, putting anything above the Dead Parrot Sketch is patently ridiculous.  Particularly a faddy comedy like Little Britain, which while reasonably amusing, will fade into obscurity in a few short years. The survey was clearly flawed and should be disregarded.  In fact... don't even read this post.  It's wrong.  All kinds of wrong.

Oops, I read it.

Still, I'm glad the Two Ronnies four candles sketch was in there somewhere. (& I don't even particularly like the Two Ronnies)

In these sorts of polls (best song, best movie, best sketch) I would ignore anything under 5 years old -

Also the failure to include "Del falling through the open hatch in the wine bar with Trigg" sketch, from Only fools and horses, just about sums this up.

Thats may view! so there - I have spoken. Ehum.

i believe only 32000 people voted
and lots of those were probably double voters

so really it's not much of an indication of anything

Any list of brilliant comical sketches not including "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories" from The Chappelle Show just aint right.
