When should Catfish buy a laptop? [7 vote(s)]

Right now! Laptops are cool and that black spot might be catching!

It's not so bad. At least you can still see most... some... a bit of the screen.

Should Catfish buy a new laptop?

Catfish has been suffering from a terrible affliction since before Christmas. She has stuck pixels all over her monitor (see attached). The affected area has been getting bigger and bigger as time goes by - I calculate that it will cover most of the South West of England by May.

It also runs painfully slowly, which is similarly upsetting, but she doesn't seem entirely convinced on replacing it, although she does keep mentioning how nice everyone's laptops are.

So my question is this... Her kit needs replacing, but when should she do it?

Time for a new one!

The stuck pixels were a result of a naughty kitten jumping on top of the monitor and knocking it over onto the edge of the keyboard. It was only a line of about 10 pixels to start with, but it's growing every day ...

... but it's not that bad yet smile  My computer isn't that slow either, it just doesn't like doing too many things at once...

... but I'll probably buy a laptop... when the JDK finds the one he wants me to getbiggrin

When you do I'll give you ten english pounds for the old one :)

I'm too dense to use a whole screen anyway.

Considering you like to keep things for a long time and you dont do processor hungry stuff, I'd buy a new screen and update the old PC a little so its a bit faster... having said that a laptop would help save you precious space!

So in other words I dont know... I just dont know...

Oh yes I do! The JDK has a camera with super fast recording so we need stuff to drop off high places and film the impact - I suspect a PC box and an LCD screen would be ideal and with that in mind I think you need a new laptop -

The Dell at Tesco for Tree Fiddy takes some beating...

that is all...

Nice idea, but a 17" monitor currently costs about half the excess on my policy... just found some for about £50 at Amazon!

And I get free next day deliver. But you have to ask yourself.... is a new monitor what you really really want?

It was an inspired choice on her part -

I'm with the JDK on this one Kazza - Lappie is the way to go - new toys! then we can destroy your old PC in glorious HD!

I LOVE MY LAPTOP!!!

It's amazingly gorgeous in a midnight blue casing and has enough memory for what I need.  Yes, it was indeed an inspired choice wink.gif
I'm in bed writing this and am just about to watch an episode of Being Human on iPlayer on it because I've gone wireless this weekend too!

LIFE IS GOOD!
