Nice to see AC/DC and Metallica back in the charts! I guess Axl realeased his little CD a bit to late to make this list!
Weirdly, I seem to be having trouble laying my hands on the top ten individual track listings - if anyone can oblige, that would be super.
So what was your favourite music of 2008? If you can, post links so we can listen to your tunes and point and laugh!
I, personally have enjoyed The Offspring's 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace' which had some very, very cool songs on it. I've had a copy of it in my car since it came out in June and it's just bloody great - particularly 'You're Gonna Go Far, Kid' (Dance, f*cker, dance!!!) and 'Rise and Fall'.
Another highlight was the Foo Fighter's similarly named album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' which sported the awesome track 'The Pretender' and the better known 'Long Road to Ruin'.
I'll probably listen to grown-ups music one day...
There's been so much new music this year that I've truly loved that finding it hard to single some out!
Was very pleasantly suprised with Chinese Democracy and Death Magnetic ... bought through habit but unlike the last 43533987345 Jovi albums they didn't disappoint.
Slipknot - "All Hope is Gone" was staggeringly good Joe Bonamassa - "Live from Nowhere In Particular" really got my enjoying blues guitar again Brad Paisley - "Play" reminded me how good country can be Paul Gilbert - "Silence Followed By ..." did the same for shred guitar. NIN - "The Slip" ... showed how industrial music should be done and why it's still alive Also by NIN - "Ghosts I - IV" was staggeringly good ambient, my go to now in stressful moments Opeth - "Watershed" ... I know it's a goth/death/metal album but I honestly believe everyone would enjoy this. Might test that theory on Stead.
Final suprise of this year was P!nk - "Funhouse" ... a pop album ... that I like ... must be pretty good then :)

Are we testing stuff on Stead now? I've got a few things I'd like to test. Like how explosive thumbs are and whether you can tie knots in arms if you liquefy the bones in them and whether subjective time slows down if you drive into a wall at the speed of light and whether it's possible to identify someone based on the tate of their armpit sweat. Do you think he'd be up for that?
