Eddie Izzard

Just thought you should all know that I'm going to see the awesome Eddie Izzard live in the West End in November! So cool!

Also, a coupla days after that, I'm going to see Dylan Moran live in bristol. Also cool. But not as cool as The Izzard.

I saw Eddie a few months ago. He was all butch, and not as fantastic as I had hoped he'd be (the sexie tour was by far the most fab dress wise) but his stuff was good, he was right on target, and incredibly funny :D

I'd love to see Dylan Moran live... you'll have to let us know how it went.

I caught the Sexie tour when it came to Cardiff. Much funnier live than the DVD. If all of his shows are that much funnier in real life, Dress to Kill must have been positively dangerous!

Dylan Moran was excellent in Black Books (if you haven't seen that, you should make a special effort! It also stars Bill Bailey!) and in the various film and TV roles I've seen him in (Shaun of the Dead, anyone?), but I've never actually seen any of his stand-up stuff. I recorded one a while back but haven't watched it yet!

I've seen two of Moran's stand ups -

The first one, I think was called Monster and was back in the days when he smoke and drank on stage. That was a really good performance and felt straight out of black books - thoroughly enjoyed it - he did stuff like "There's no such thing as a relationship, its just you me and the room", all that stuff and it was very funny.

The next one I saw was later on in his career - sober and no smokes and it felt like a pale photocopy - he'd lost his edge and wasnt very funny at all. Hopefully that was just a bad night!
