Is cottage pie not an actual pie-type dish, where the totties sit on top of the mince?
Whereas mince 'n totties is just a plate with mince 'n totties on it.
Stovies is mince 'n totties cooked together, kind of like mince soupe with totties in.
Top stuff on a cauld day!

My father-in0law has this strange habit of serving mince with a raw egg cracked over it. Ive never seen anything so boggin' lookin' in my life! Apparently is a Highland thing...

Of course the problem with Highlanders is that you can only kill 'em by chopping their heads off.  Bloody immortal basserds.

Darren - what a find, thank you so much!  I'd have carried on feeding them to Simon obliviously poisoning him with the wheat protein from the DNA of the delightful little source creatures.

He owes you his life.

Egg and mince, sounds like a Pastie Pie to me, surely the egg is cooked though!

Yes, I just checked on google and was more than a little surprised, shall we say.

Hence the swift edit - but not swift enough for some it would seem!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!
Just read the edit, nice one!
For a moment there I thought you were moving the discussion on to a preference of another sort!
It threw me a bit!

Heh heh heh heh.  Fadge is only worth having if it's been cooked in bacon fat!

So, he doesn't think this might taste a little better if he took a moment to cook the egg?

Hmm.  What you have to remember about characters like this, is that they don't eat the egg raw because they like it.  They eat it raw because they're hard.  And that's the way it's always been done, since before they invented fire and polyunsaturated cooking oil!

Can I admit to you  chaps that burgers & mince do the same to me? (not necessarily at the same time though)  Yeah, I'm sure I can.

Nate:  Ever tried being 9 months pregnant and eating a full meal?  That's hellish heartburn!  Never again.
