The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So presumably the Snopes forum, linked from the banner at the top of every page is not a place where one can discuss the accuracy of the various articles?
And this section in the FAQ, also linked to from the banner at the top of every page (emphasis mine):
Q: How do I know the information you've presented is accurate? A: We don't expect anyone to accept us as the ultimate authority on any topic, which is why our site's name indicates that it contains reference pages. Unlike the plethora of anonymous individuals who create and send the unsigned, unsourced e-mail messages that are forwarded all over the Internet, we show our work. The research materials we've used in the preparation of any particular page are listed in the bibliography displayed at the bottom of that page so that readers who wish to verify the validity of our information may check those sources for themselves.
They describe their site as "urban legends reference pages" suggesting everything contained within the site is an urban legend - which, as I've shown with the mobile phone issue, isnt the case. So, I'm taking it more from the language they use rather than their small print (which if you write enough of you can cover yourself for anything)
They should call it "Snopes - possible explanations of popular stories that may or may not be myth) - that would be more accurate

Yes. That's right. An urban legend can be true, you know. It's simply a story or fact that is normally believed to be true with little or no supporting evidence.

Have you? When? I must have missed the bit when you directed us to a credible source or even did the experiment yourself to prove it.
I am 100% satisfied that this particular urban legend (or load of old bollocks as we should probably call it) is false and will happily watch you perform the experiment with two mobile phones to demonstrate it's truth. If you can persuade Chris Evans to participate, all the better!
I dont really see the need to satisfy you of anything me old mate - I saw it happen, I'm 100% satisfied that this is not false and am happy to rest it at that. If you and snopes wish to believe it to be a myth, well as they say, ignorance is bliss!

Just to be clear I said "I'm 100% satisfied that this is not false" - as far as I'm concerned the matter is closed - its not about win or lose, satisfy you, or snopes (a privately run website) or not - its my view that counts to me.

Hang on, I'm trying to make sense of that last post. It's not coming easily. It would probably help if you had used something approaching normal english sentence structure rather than a series of seemingly random words and phrases. Silly boy.
Yeah nice try, but you logged on and posted about 5 minutes after me - and yet its taken you another 6 1/2 hrs to pull together a 'come back' - you're a bright boy! have a sweetie

I was just giving you a chance to compose a sensible response, however it seems you've abandoned the Snopes issue and are now focussing on simply being abusive. Which is fine. We can't all conduct sensible debates and we should try to play to our strengths.
Thanks for clarifying - could you do the same for the second half of the post.
I'm happy that you're satisfied that you're right and that the matter's closed. It doesn't mean you are or that it is, but I'm happy for you all the same.
And as for leaving me in charge of stuff, I'm just glad that you're not in charge of anything important if you're gonna take information from 12 year old friday night light entertainment as read without considering the possibility that the sketch may have been staged to satirise or poke fun at current affairs at the time or even verifying it from another source
So all in all, I'm happy and glad, which is a nice way to end the weekend.
lol - sorry Ben - JDK doesnt like to lose so he keeps gamely plugging away. For instance his last post was utterly pointless because at this point he's just shouting in an empty room.
I'm pretty sure I said -
"its my view that counts to me"
and yet there he is like a dog chasing a moving car - bravely running and yapping as he slowly disappears in the rear view mirror as the driver moves on to other things.
I wont be posting on this thread again for the sake of the other well respected forum members - it got boring a long time ago
