This is supposedly a picture of the world's most polluted river, Citarum, near the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. Bit manky, eh?

I'm presuming they're going to sell it & that's how they make their living. Has to be said it seems a better job than doing the same on a landfill site, at least you get a boat.

I suspect that the brown-ness of the water is not due to silt...

Give me a landfill over a massively polluted river in a third world country any day!

Apparently they frequently get river-fires there...
