I had to Google what a "zune" is...Question is: If you have one, why do you need the other?...Don't they do the same thing?...confused...Ben

My understanding is that the humour in the article is derived from the fact that the Zune is a microsoft product and therefore rubbish. By disguising your super-trendy Ipod as a Zune, it becomes instantly unattractive to would be thieves due to it's rubbishness.

That said, I don't particularly rate ipods either. They're a decidedly average product with no particularly innovatve functions.
