The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So, I was idly reading this article when I came across a few phrases that amused me:
If modern psychologists were slow to understand how men's emotions affect their behaviors, it's only because their predecessors long ago decided that having a uterus was the main risk factor for mental illness.
Obviously, as I'm not a sexist pig, I don't find this statement funny in any way... ahem... But...
...it may seem clichéd [...] to say that men tend not to take care of themselves and are reluctant to own up to mental illness. But the facts suggest that, well, men tend not to take care of themselves...
...so that's okay then!
When he finally learned in 2005 that he suffered from depression, he felt a combination of shock and relief. "That was the most stunning thing. I just thought I was a lousy husband and miserable bastard and a drunk," says Feherty, now 48. "A mental illness? Me? I had no idea."
So now we have to let miserable bastards who are lousy husbands and drunks off the hook. Okay then. I'll just add that to the list of things that arseholes aren't responsible for!
Just thought I'd share that. You may now return tou your other stuff. And things, too, if you like...
You do wonder if mental health will ever get taken seriously with articles like this (I am soley ranting at the article, not people's comments, just to be clear. I'm pretty sure we'd take the piss about a badly written article on anything). They somehow seem to have implied that all the grumpy men, doing anything from refusing to wash up to beating their wives in drunken rages aren't at fault, they all have depression. Now, I'm sure some of them do & yes, it can be a totally debilitating disease & a very hard thing to face up to & seek help for, but I'm really not sure that this is the way to change that!

Does anyone else think Shaz sound a bit down?
Okay, lets have a straw poll to see if our article writer is onto something. Has anyone here felt slighty depressed or a bit narky at any point in the last two weeks?
Er... me! I must be depressed then!
I wouldn't know how to tell. I'm always a bit narky in the mornings - particularly with inanimate objects that don't read my mind and do what I want without any physical intervention from me. Apart from that, I'm pretty laid back about stuff and it doesn't seem to get to me too much. So I'm probably not depressed. Unless I'm unconciously bottling it up!
Yeah? Well you're a ****** **** with a ******* **** ***** in your **** ********** and you should go and ****** shove your ****** into your ********** til it ********, you giant ******* ******. I'm gonna come round your house and **** you right up your ******* stupid *******.
Sorry. That wasn't my fault. It was the brain damage!
Dont you think though, that if your wife is in a drunken rage, you should beat her? If only to calm her down....?
again just with the kidding...
It's a fair point, but on reflection I think no, should you have a wife in a drunken rage then the best thing to do is run away, very fast! Probably best to zigzag a bit, makes her more likely to fall over & give up if she's chasing you, or harder for her to aim the gun if she's standing still. If I ever claim to have a wife in a drunken rage then I really will have a mental health problem & will probably need sectioning.

I could probably deal with a drunken rage, it's the quiet rage I'm currently up against that I have trouble getting a handle on...
And for the record, I've never hit a woman in my life and don't think I ever could, not even in self-defense...It just goes against the grain for me...Ben
