The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
Yesterday the Amistad arived in Bristol. Well... a replica of it anyway. Turns out though, that no-one at all in my office seems to know what it is. A couple of them guessed that it was a ship but couldn't tell me what it was famous for. One person said it was a film. Another person tought it was an ex Soviet state and was therefore somewhat surpised that it had turned up in Bristol.
I'm just interested... (without googling) do any of you guys know what it is? Is it unreasonable of me to expect people to have at least a passing knowledge of it?
My mother has the entire run of Roots on VHS. Remember VHS? I tried watching it once but it was... interminable!
It's ok, Steveo - I wasn't including you in my little rant. I'd have been amazed if your amazing grasp of history managed to overlook that particular period.

You should know all about it, being a fine Southern gent!

Well then, you're not in my office are you? You're in the one next door. To be fair, Scotty in your room knew (eventually), so the level of education is clearly higher in there.

I remember reading about it now that I've Googled it...That was truly a distasteful period in American history...It is a shame that it's a part of current events in many parts of the world today...Ben

Dazza, you should check out Roots on DVD (now available in all good stores).
It stars that guy who played Geordie Laforge of Star Trek NG and is actually a true story of several generations of struggle by a black family in the US from the 1770's upto the 1960's..the 60's episode stars James Earl Jones incidentally..
