Stuck in a field in the rain at quarter past midnight

Bah.

I've just spent the evening at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta ( which was very cool, but more about that tomorrow). it finished at about 10 pm and it's now about 12.15 am and 8'm still stuck in the car park.

theres been some sort of problem and the traffic just ain't moving - no one around to ask although there were signs of a tow truck in the distance.

Of my 3 passengers, two are asleep and one is snoring. it's just started to rain.

i'm bored, so I thought I'd post this with my phone. My thumbs hurt now... cry.gif

OOps - sorry to hear about your sucky night - they have major traffic problems down there every year due to the location - the rain cant have helped though!

Hope you eventually made it home... and you're not still sitting there in the rain..

Yeah. Made it out eventually. Catfish and I finally arived home at about 1.30am after dropping off our passengers!

I made videos of the mass lift off and the nightglow (where they light up the balloons in time to music).

The first one is about 10 minutes long - if you don't have time to watch it all, I recommend skipping to about 5 minutes and then again to about a minute before the end.

Also, Timelapseguy made a very cool video of the takeoff in high speed. Watch for the monster:

At least you had sleeping people for company. I had a total nightmare journey home last night & all on my tod. First I killed a cat, which I was hugely upset about & it didn't exactly start things off well, then much traffic & many miles of roadworks - I was sat on the M1 with my engine off. On top of that my radio's not working & I had to ration my playing of music on my phone due to a low battery. Home in time for slightly over 5 hours sleep.
I am most tired & grumpy today.

That was extremely sucky. cry.gif

Going to work on monday on 5 hours sleep is never good. You have my sympathy and I will instruct everybody else to be sympathetic too. nod.gif

Everybody: be sympathetic too.

It does sound a bit like an episode of One Foot in the Grave. Did you double check your slippers to make sure you hadn't accidentally slipped your foot into a hedgehog?

I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed. I can also reassure you that I did not, at any time, utter the words "I don't believe it.".

Victor Meldrew didn't notice.

Still, good news on the hedgehog. Something good came from it all.

Reckon I'm more observant than Victor Meldrew.
