Universal Truth - PA to the MD

In my experience the PA to the MD or other high placed executive within a company always has a really stinking attitude problem and a real ego they assume an authority they dont have and generally are pretty unpleasant people.

Anyone agree?

well I don't work in a very large place - either I'm the MD and KingBilly is the PA.. or it's the other way around - and we're quite nice to each other.

But from the movies that I have seen - sure this seems to be the way it is! brushteeth.gif

Certainly in my limited experience, PAs and secretaries assume that they have the same level of seniority as the person they work for. One of the many bosses bosses bosses that I've had (about 3 or four grades ahead of me) had an assistant the same grade as me who thought she was godlike.

We had another girl who was actually 2 grades below me but worked for a guy two grades above me. She was pretty hoity toity about it too. She was very annoyed when it was decided that she was no longer to be attached to the senior manager but was to be a sort of pool secretary for the whole team - in her eyes it was an enormous demotion, despite no grade reduction or actual change in duties.

We fired her soon after for fiddling the books...
