The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So, with the future of our energy supply being decided in Westminster, I just wondered what we all thought about the options. there seems to be a big anti-nuclear lobby out there. And...er an anti-wind farm lobby. Whaddaya think. Vote and discuss!
This is the sort of conversation that means I just want to sit in the corner and read and pretend I'm not listening, but take in everybody's views on the subject and mull it over. Seeing as I work for the nuclear industry and I'm probably a bit biased, it's the sort of conversation I have generally kept my head down about when it comes to giving my opinion to friends. However, if they ask me a question about nuclear related stuff I'm happy to discuss a few facts. I'm generally pro-nuclear, but I'm not sure the debate should be what power source we should use, but how to reduce the amount we (and industry) do use.
Personally I think reducing power is a nice idea on paper - but with a world driven forward by technology and an increasing population size - demand is only going to go one way in my view. With that in mind we should explore as many different kinds of power as possible.
If the government would help me out with a grant or a reduction in my tax I'd happily stick a miniturbine or solar panel on my roof AS LONG as they make sure they meet the majority of our needs. We need to sort our supplies out and if that means Nuclear power then fine by me - after all we've had it for years without a problem so getting all worried about it now is like saying "Oh shit we're an island - we're like, surrounded by water!"
