for our american friends, this guy is a chat show presenter dude who really can be quite funny and usually offends everyone..

anyway - check out the vote that accompanied this bbc news article - a slight hint as to who reads the site methinks?

Oddly enough, I've just read that article myself.  The poll results speak for themselves. 


We live in a country that practices free speech.  The cost of free speech is that sometimes, some people hear something they consider to be offensive.  If only 60 of the 65 million people in country complained about Ross' comments (or even Jamie Oliver's which was funnier) then I think that shows that they're in the minority.


If you don't like Jonathan Ross... Don't watch his show.  Duh...

So, we were just discussing this in the office when our local council estate resident returns.  He demands to know what we're talking about & then says "Well I live on a council eatate & I'd agree with that, you should see some of the people."  [Err, yes, sadly we do see one, daily]  He then goes on to say "He had the guy with Tourette's from Big Brother on the other week & people complained because he sweared.".  I had to interject at that point with a quick "swore" and he responds that Jonathan Ross wouldn't have said swore, he'd have said sweared!  Hello!  No, he wouldn't, he is an educated man.  Bring on the lead...

Now I'm not going to bang on about my right to wander the streets with a crossbow because I think I may have offended people with that remark before...
