Steve Irwin: R.I.P.

'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin killed

Australian environmentalist and television personality Steve Irwin has died during a diving accident.

Mr Irwin, 44, was killed by a stingray barb to the chest while he was filming an underwater documentary in Queensland's Great Barrier Reef.

Given his propensity for p*ssing off dangerous wild animals, it was only a matter of time before one of them did him in.  Still, this is a real shame, because he not only made cool documentaries but did loads for the environment and wildlife.

It wont get released though - I'm sure they will destroy it once the investigation is satisfied.

I dont mind that so much - it keeps us enthused about bombing the nadgers out of countries we can barely find on the map...

I was hoping to be ironic - I'm not sure that worked...

This may seem like a really morbid question.. but its something I've been thinking about.. I asked Kev and he said no.. but I don't know...

If your spouse/SO died in an accident.. and the incident was caught on tape... would you feel compelled to watch it?

I guess I'm just thinking about how the two of them (Steve and Terri) were doing this together.. they just happened to NOT be together at the time.. and would seeing a video of that be something she would want/need to do..

I dunno.. maybe I need to stop thinking about such morbid things.

I would think no... But it's probably hard to say until you're really in such a position...

And, what's this lady's problem?

That woman has such a stick up her arse about everything. She's always had something to complain about, and frankly, after a while it gets tiresome.

This was just poor form. Using his death to further her own notoriety. She can go scratch.

If it wasnt a particularly violent or gruesome death then yeah I think I would want to see it - but thats mostly because I am an insane control freak and would want to convince myself that had I been there, the death would have been averted in some way.

As for Germain Grear or wotever her name is - she has made a career out of being controversial for the sake of it and needs a good smack in the chops. What she's doing out of the bloody kitchen in the first place beats me...
