I am sure they break down before that but people don't tell you until lunch time. See it will break before lunch the people just goof off instead of waiting for it to get back online. Then they go to lunch and report it expecting that when they get back from lunch all will be rosey again. Basserds!
Nope, there's more to this than that... I always mix up my lunch hour, sometimes it's 11:00 am and other times it's 4:00 pm...
In any event, I used to have a colleague who would ask me crazier than fiction technical questions only when I had just started in on my lunch! No joke... Not sure how he did it. I'd take one bite of my hot lunch, then it was fubar question time!
Actually, this got a little better. Having worked through lunchtime to fix the database (access - you know how it is) I was just preparing to leave at 4pm when one the of the guys came up to me and announced it had broken down again. At 4pm on a friday afternoon. He also confessed that he had twelve (yes, count them, TWELVE) copies of the database open on his computer. I asked him what his point was, then left.
