It was a toss up whether or not companies were open yesterday. My company works with courthouse documents, so we were closed yesterday since the courthouse was closed. But, I know a few friends of mine had to work.

I didn't get to see any fireworks cuz we had a nasty thunderstorm It was so bad, I actually lost power for almost two hours. I quite like thunderstorms, but not when I had plans to go to Riverfront Park to see the symphony do an outdoor concert.

Altho, if anyone's interested... these are some pics my friend took of the fireworks in Oregon.

Not at all. Better than it being mid week or on a Sunday. My company (almost twice as big as Sony

)had the day off yesterday. And thank goodness, the celebration was on on Sunday!

It's a bit of a misnomer where I work though, as the holidays are all flexible, so if the company declares a company-wide holiday, I have to burn a day out of my pool of vacation days, that I would get either way.
