The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
if i step back and take it as an ad campaign nothing to do with mac - the ad as an ad is pretty good - the "mac" guy is actually pretty sympathetic to the "pc" guy and not "hoity toity" at all (say it was burger king vs mcdonalds, it wouldnt piss people off in the same way, they'd laugh it off)
basically it boils down to pc users hating the mac users and the mac users hating the pc users. neither side's attitude is good - in fact i find it quite confusing - it's an object people! an OBJECT.
i really don't hate pcs, they def have their uses, from personal experience (10 years of using a pc and a year and a half of using a mac) i just get a lot more pleasure and a lot less hassle from this laptop than i did the last one :) i wouldn't go back
As a PC user, I don't have any problems with the mac itself. In fact, OSX isn''t bad at all. (Previous versions of the mac operating system however, had me running for the hills.) It's the attitude I can't stand. I can't even fully explain it, but its just something about these commercials, and that attitude that crawls under my skin. Like I mentioned, its the artsy-fartsy-better-than-you-look-you-out-of-date-nerd-geezer-while-i-kick-it-here-in-my-uber-cool -skater sneakers-and-cords-if-you-want-a-pc-you're-obviously-not-as-smart-or as coooooool-as-a-mac-user attitude Like he's almost throwing pity at him. Like he's about to pat him on the head with a condescending "there, there, tsk, tsk" thrown in.
as far as i can determine they went to intel because they're a chip company capable of making the chip they wanted..
mac had some trouble with the logic boards in the last range of ibooks (which they promptly recalled and replaced) so my guess is the old.. i want to say ibm (motorola before that i think) .. chip just wasn't what mac paid for and they changed company, the chip inside a mac isn't the same as the chip inside a pc, it's just made by the same company
also i think they're far from desperate, they've seen a huge rise in sales (mostly due to the ipod it's true) in the last few years. they saw a need and provided for it, that's not desperate, that's good business. (and now noone has the 'but macs dont have good games' excuse)
as for the commercial - there's a lot of people do like it (i won't bother with the links ) .. and a lot of people actually prefer the older dude from the john daly show who plays the pc. i like him too, but yes the younger dude is cooler.. and that's because what he says is true heh heh
Fair enough - mac has its place and MS keep them well funded to they dont find themselves operating a total monopoly - but at the end of the day my 3 offices are in buildings with total about 10,000 people in them and I havent seen a mac anywhere - still one hell of a hill for them to climb and I dont think the iPod really counts...

of my crowd of friends, every person that has a laptop has a mac (i counted on my fingers, i got to ten, then i ran out of fingers).. actually, next trip to usa we're bring back one for a friend (i mean, he's paying.. but also saving $800 with the exchange rate, whoo)
my brother in law's company of 50 all use them (they have one pc to check compatibility on)
it's just what you're used to i love everyone. well not love. like. well i suppose not everyone, a lot of people tho. right, this is all irrelevant
i just don't want aodan to think i have a bad attitude i would highly recommend a mac to my friends, but i ultimately don't care what they use
No no no katie No worries there... its not you I have a problem with.. its not macs I have a problem with.. its those COMMERCIALS I have a problem with
I should point out that those 75000 staffare mostly using nasty old shite PCs that do things like... er...nothing when you want them to do something. Mine's a new one and it's shit.
I'll buy a mac next time round, I think. Katie will think I'm cool then.

darren, i already think you're cool. but i'll probbaly think you're cooooler hehe
So does the sound run in sync with the video if you play the ad on a mac? I'd give the pc guy a job over the mac guy any day, the mac guy looks like he'd always be skiving off to play on his skateboard. Quite honestly (& I'm with Jackie on this, it's the ad I've a problem with, not the product) the message I get from this is that macs are great for farting around on but you need a pc to do work. Possibly this isn't what the marketing department intended?
ok, i know these infuriate most of you.. (this one IS one of the mac ads, click at your own risk).. but come on guys the girl pulls a photo out of her butt (and i did share the anti-mac one before hehe)
