Hyper Spaz!

Not sure if this received much attention across the Atlantic but check out the freak show that this minor league coach put on after disagreeing with a Umpire's call on a play:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/more/06/26/manager.ejection.ap/

Be sure to check out the video!!

Here we have a brilliant dive into 2nd base:

And here we have a little chit-chat with the Umpire:

Manager Joe Mikulik turned Applebee's Park into a one-man show following a close call at second base in the bottom of the fifth inning.

And, here's my favourite quote from the man, himself, following the incident:

"It was just frustration, and I obviously went a little bit too far."

Erm, you think? No, that's normal behaviour, right there!

Hehehe I watched that on the news last night... the silliest thing was that he was just kinda half kicking dirt at the umpire and then he went to home plate and covered it with dirt.. it all seemed so rediculous.

good old Lou

He always kicked dirt on the plate, the umpire, whatever was in his way!

Since I know as much about baseball as I do about heart surgery, is kicking dirt on the umpire's shoes supposed to mean something? Is it like the super insult? I don't get it, why not just kick the guy in the shins?

My suspicion is that were he to make physical contact with the umpire, he'd get kicked out of the game and probably suffer a penalty including a match ban and/or fine.  So he kicks dirt instead.

Mostly you see them kicking dirt on the plate or messing up the chalk lines. I think they partly do this because the umpire has to fix it (clean the plate, or have the lines fixed by the ground crew). I wish I could find some video of a good Lou Pinella rant, he was/is the best at them.

Here is a video of the guy Nate referenced

I am suprised this guy only got fined $1000 and did not lose his job.

I have no sound at work, but that looks cool.

There's always one that spoils it...

Yeah, the video is a must see!!!

Still laugh my arse off every time I see this:

Ha ha ha.... I was telling a coworker ,who was having an issue with IE (needed to disable Script debugging, someone built a dodgy web page), that I was in the mood to take a dive towards 2nd base by the time I figured out it was that particular SNAFU default IE setting mucking up my program!!!
