I want to do karate.  All the websites for Karate in Bristol are pants.  I want to do Wado-Ryu style karate - can find 1 club in Totterdown.


Think I've found one nearer to us but they couldn't possibly put down training times/dates/cost could they?  Oh no - I have to phone some guy and ask him about it.  It's too late to do that now - I'll have to remember to do it tomorrow.


Why do people bother setting up websites if they're only going to put half their information on them eh? eh?

I did up to blue belt karate but had to give up when I was 16.  I figure 10 years is a long enough break!!


I don't think I'll be able to pick up where I left off somehow!!

I never took up karate, but I'm thinking of doing Krav Maga. Looks like a lot of fun and a heck of a workout.


Now all I need to do is get paid so I can afford to go

(stupid "oh yeah didn't anyone tell you? we only pay once a month" job)

Im thinking of going back to judo in september, after i get a few things sorted out first of all, but my friends 11yr old daughter is pestering me to go to ju-jitsu with her, apparently she has to bring an adult for the month of august or something, and as her mum already goes im a handy target. Im not really that fussed on it - its gonna take me the summer to get into any kind of shape so i can do the judo thing!

I've told Vic that I'll go to karate with her as long as she can find a beginners class for adults.  I think learning karate with a bunch of 10 year olds would just be embarrasing (arg - beaten up by a nipper )!

i have a stripey black and white belt with adjustable buckle, i stole it from my friend


.. do most jobs in the usa not pay once a month? i only get paid once a month too, which is disheartening but on a brighter note, i think that once a month is this week - whoohoo

i get paid weekly (and weakly as well ) and i agree that getting thrown about the mats by 11 year old girls with black belts doesnt sound particulaly appetising to me either - gonna have to wrangle my way outta it somehow I could break my arm again... no, no tha wasnt good, that was quite painfull, ah well back to the drawing board

I've never had a job that paid once a month before - and believe me, I've had a lot of jobs


Every two weeks seems to be more the standard... had one that paid me weekly and one that paid on the 15th and 30th of every month... but mostly it's every two weeks.

The judo club im gonna join (again) its handy and ive been before so i know the trainers

The one my friends daughter wants me to go to is worse than your karate website - they aint got one!

Counting And, I've only heard of this phenomenon twice now. When I was contracting/consulting, I was paid weekly, now bi-weekly.

Funny the differences. 
On this side of the pond it's taken as red that people who get paid weekly/fortnightly are, well, not able to get work with those employers who pay monthly.

Hmmm, job type aside, I'll take weekly over monthly (hell, give me daily)! Being paid once a year is not luxurious in my estimation.
