The very oldest...

...actor/actress I can find that is still active (i.e. made a film or TV programme in the last 2 years) and still alive is Christopher Lee, who was born in 1922.

Lauren Bacall comes in second, born in 1924.

Any advances?

Not yet, but I'll have a think.

This chap was born in 1932, but I don't think he's still acting.

(that's Tarzans mate Cheeta btw, actually at his 74th birthday party.)

Not the very oldest but Paul Newman, heck the guy is 81 and still is doing a ton of stuff. Most recently he is doing a voice in Disney/Pixar "Cars"

I found one,

Betty White (old bird from the Golden Girls) was born 17-Jan 1922. She still does a lot too.

Got a better one. The entire cast of 60 minutes. You all in GB may not know what 60 minutes is.........its a sunday news program that has been on forever and most of the people have been around longer than time.

Especially,

Andy Rooney born 14 January 1919

Well I thought I had a winner... but nope... just an "honorable mention"

Tony Curtis born June 3, 1925

Still doing work, but I truly think nothing compares to his role as The Great Leslie.

Ooh.  Brian's post just geve me an Idea...

Mickey Rooney. 1920.  That makes him 86.  Busy chap!

Andy beats him by a year, though!

Andy's just one month older than Jack Palance:

They mention he's retired, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in another movie or tv show...

Yeah, well this site gives him more recent credits:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001588/

And where Andy gives commentary, this guy's actually an actor.

Hmm.  Good point.  Although IMDB suggests that Andy has played himself in a couple of 2004 shows.

Maybe we should take a vote.  Who thinks Jack Palance is the Man?

That's more commentary, dude. ESPN is a Sports Network, and it appears he provided them with commentary on an old Football player, Frank Gifford. No acting there, at all. All commentary...

Well, if we change the criteria to 'media personality', then Andy gets it. But if we're holding to actors, I might have to go with the Jackster.

Does not qualify And, he has not done anything lately. No credits on IMDB since 1999

'M*A*S*H': 30th Anniversary Reunion (2002) (TV) .... Himself (Col. Sherman T. Potter, 1975-1983)

It's not the last two years, but more recent than 1999. And this year he's getting inducted into the westerns hall of fame.
