The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
A conversation with a colleague sparked this one off. There are four parts to it.
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit?
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)?
3. Where have you been?
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday?
For my part, the answers are as follows:
1. I’d love to see the Grand Canyon and revisit Niagra Falls and NY, maybe do a road trip across the States. I'd also like to go north and visit Canada. I wanna go back down under to see Ayres Rock, the east coast of Oz and NZ. Venice was a nice spot – I’d go there again (good romantic spot to take the ladies for a long weekend - it's not very big, you might get bored if you stay longer...), Rome would be good and I'd quite like to take a look around the Vatican. Wouldn’t mind visiting Scandinavia. Lots of fjords and snow. Excellent health services! Eastern Europe… maybe. They have many castles there. I saw Iceland on a Top Gear repeat last night and I quite like the look of that, too. Never been to Ireland. I really should take advantage of the direct Bristol-Dublin air link.
2. I've no interest in the Middle East, Africa or China (Although I would kinda like to visit the Great Wall and the Pyramids). Although Russia's supposed to be great, I can't say I wanna go there, either!
3. I've mostly been to Europe - Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy and Belgium. I went to New England in the States and took in New York and Niagra Falls while I was there. I've spent a cumulative total of about 5 or 6 hours in Singapore and of course good old Western Australia! Not as well travelled as I'd like.
4. New York for a few days later this year, I think. Sadly, Oz left me broke, so I have to save up again!
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit?
i pretty much want to go everywhere (this is going to make number 2 difficult to answer)
I'd also love to do the across usa roadtrip thing, it's something we've always talked about and will totally do - on our way we'd have to stop at yosemite and make our way to the grand canyon. having been in vegas, i'd totally go again (but not for too long, it gets tedious) and then down to santa monica - if i could live anywhere in the world it would be on ocean avenue hehe. I'd also love to go to japan and china so i could eat copious amounts of sushi and buy advanced technology.
i always wanted to go to fiji, but i think they're having political trouble? not sure. also hawaii altho it's awwwfully far away.
i drove through washington dc once, i'd love to go back and actually spend time there
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)?
i think the holy lands scare me a bit - billy wants to go check out jerusalem but it does frighten me - and obviously the whole iraq/iran thing makes that place a bit of a no-go just at the moment!
3. Where have you been?
spent a lot of time in north carolina, been to south carolina, georgia, tennessee, florida, nevada, colorado, NY, virginia and california did a week thing in romania in school when i was about 11 we had a family vacation to malta, it was pretty sweet i've been to most countries of the uk, (altho never made it to bristol, maybe i should do that?) i've also been to ireland (kerry and dublin) did jamaica for the honeymoon thing - yeah mon
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday?
heading back to NC in august for a wedding, although i've heard rumours of a potential trip to dallas or mexico (oh i'd like to go there too) before that, i'll keep ya posted.
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit?
Hmmm, Sweden, back to Paris, Moscow might be a trip, Czech Republic, Spain, Argentina, Australia, and Montreal. I'd like to go to Egypt, but I'm not sure how safe that would be... Hong Kong might be a hoot, too! Fishing with my pappy in Alaska could be fun as well!
Kind of mixing countries with cities, here, but perhaps you get the drift.
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)?
Mexican border towns, like Nogales, not so hot... Pakistan doesn't sound stable, and neither does anywhere in the Middle East.
3. Where have you been?
Er, nowhere?
Most of the U.S., including Florida, Washington D.C., Washington State, Hawaii, Arizona, Wyoming, New York City. Hit Toronto and Vancouver. And have made it across the Atlantic to Paris and Amsterdam.
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday?
Mini-holiday coming up nord in Minnesota. Longer one on Lake Huron up north in Ontario, Canada.
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit?
Canada, Chile, Argentina, Falkland Isles and then Antarctica. Cuba, Australia, New Zealand, possibly Russia on the Tran Siberian Railway, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Spain (Barcelona really) Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Kenya, Micronesia. North Korea (cos it would be fascinating), Vietnam
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)?
South Africa, China, Brazil
3. Where have you been? USA well Arizona actually, Italy, Greece, Spain, Czech Republic (Prague is a cracking city), Holland, Germany, Belgium, Turkey. Greece, Italy and Turkey was all about ancient ruins, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Delphi, Acropolis, Ephessus, Priene.
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday? A friend's birthday on the 31st October to Euro Disney as it's where she wants to go. Not sure how I'll cope with three days of saccraine sweet, ain't life great, so great you want to vomit Disney. After that, if we can afford it, Cuba. Don't want to do the package Cuba, want to stay in Havana rather than in some gated resort.

1. What parts of the world would you like to visit?
Well everywhere! In particular South America for the ancient civilisations & 'cos it's the home of my favourite tree (work it out!), Iceland & Hawaii for the geology, Croatia for the geology & wildlife, Petra, 'cos, WOW, Turkey, in particular Istanbul before it's destroyed by an earthquake, somewhere with decent snow, Outer Mongolia (yeah, I know it technically no longer exists)...
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)?
Cheers Sharkjf, was struggling on this one, but theme parks in general, also anywhere totally self contained - I travel to see the local places, not some anglicised resort complex.
I do desperatly want to visit the Sudan (the whole ancient Egyptian things extends accross into it, but these pyramids have no Pizza Hut or McD's!), but too scared to go at the mo!
3. Where have you been?
Morocco's been my only trip out of Europe (& would go again at the drop of a hat). All round the UK (except NI), France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain (take supplies if you're veggie!), Holland (the one place I found really dull) (various towns & cities and/or travelling around in all of those). Citybreaks: Tallin, Prague, Milan, Riga, Gdansk, Brussels, Dublin, Cork.
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday?
Got a trip to Kanaus (Lithunia) in October, possibly followed by a work conference in Amsterdam. Hoping to go to a wedding in Sri Lanka, end of next year (another place that'a a bit scary!)
Oof you guys are so lucky to have been so many fabulous places... here's mine:
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit? Greece, Australia, Ireland (again), Egypt (although right now maybe not so much), South America, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Italy, Spain, France, Anywhere in England OTHER than London (well to be fair I'd go back, but I already went), Scotland... hmm might be easier to list the places I DON'T want to go.
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)? Las Vegas, Bahamas, ok really any of the island's other than Bermuda but that's only because of the sentimental value of the place, anywhere people might want to kill me.
3. Where have you been? USA: Alaska, Colorado, connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming Canada: British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, PEI, Quebec Other: London, Ireland (Drove from Shannon to Dublin along the coast), Bermuda
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday?
Probably Florida to 1) celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday in Disney World, 2) to see Andromeda 3) to visit relatives down there.
1. What parts of the world would you like to visit? Everywhere except: see question 2
2. What parts of the world hold no interest for you (or scare you a bit)? The rest of the US (excluding Alaska) and any 'island resort' type places. I would like to see the middle east, but I think I'd like to wait until I'm not going to get my butt shot off - assuming I even live long enough to see that.
3. Where have you been? US: New York - the entire state. Once did a driving tour with mom around the entire mainland portion and ended at Niagara Falls. Massachusetts (Salem, Danvers, Boston, Stockbridge, West Newbury.. even hit up the Cheers bar), New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Connecticut, North Carolina, Maryland, D.C., Florida (well, before I lived here I visited), Georgia - but only the airport in Atlanta which is in and of itself a city. I think I went to Maine once when I was really little, but I don't remember it. Still feel like I'm forgetting somewhere....
Outside the US: Canada, mostly Montreal area. Italy.
4. Where are you going on your next planned holiday? There was a rumor going around that I was being dragged off to Germany in September to go visit my sister's husband's grave on the anniversary of his death. While I'd like to see Germany, I think that's a bit too morbid for me. I'm trying to talk my way out of it.
Andromeda wrote: Massachusetts (Salem, Danvers, Boston, Stockbridge, West Newbury.. even hit up the Cheers bar), That Boston trip was the most tiring trip EVAR. And the Cheers bar had no right being up that stupid hill.
No joke, but it was so worth it. I say we write to them and tell them to move!
LOL that's awesome.. oddly enough I only remember a couple of things about the place... the hill and the fact that I was really, really tired. And a table that we passed but didn't sit at. And that the lighting inside was kind of yellowish red. But I don't remember the table we DID sit at, and I don't remember what I ate.
you're right, i'm not at all blissfully still in my first year of marriage, happier than i have ever been.. and i really want to be there to not be able to use your spare room along with everyone else
