JD Facts

Jammie Dodgers were re-launched in March 2001, with new packaging and new improved biscuit design incorporating the jammie splodge. This re-launch was also supported with an extensive TV & Poster campaign on pack promotion.

  • Approximately 42 people are employed to operate the machinery used to make the Dodgers, from mixing the ingredients to baking and packing the product.

  • Over 200 packets of Jammie Dodgers are made per minute, that equates to 14 Jammie Dodgers being eaten every second.

  • Jammie Dodgers are available in the following formats:

    • A 150g pack containing 8 biscuits

    • A 300g pack containing 16 biscuits.

In addition Jammie Dodgers are also available in the following formats:

    • Mini Jammie Dodgers. (180g and 360g packs)
Portion controlled and ideal for the lunchbox.

    • Tear and Share 250g Bag
Resealable bag perfect for sharing with all the family or when you're busy and on the move.

    • Snacktubs
2 biscuits sealed within a fab tub, perfect for the lunchbox.

In the 1960's Jammie Dodgers were first made at the Burtons factory in Llantarnam, South Wales.

An appeal for information on how Jammie Dodgers got their name was sent out in July 2001 where over 600 responses were received. These were issued in a numerous of national newspapers including the Daily Mail and the TV programme Working Lunch.

However these proved inconclusive, so if anyone knows anything about where the name Jammie Dodgers came from let Burtons know.

This is starting to remind me of the 'making a baby' thread.

To be honest, I don't actually care where they came from or how they came about as long as they keep 'em coming!

Hmmm.  So if one Jammie Dodger eater loves another Jammie Dodger very much they cuddle in a special way...

When you say 'cuddle in a special way' do you mean like sticky jam bits  <touching>
