Girl's bodies!

So, according to the BBC Website, "the average British woman worries about her body every 15 minutes".

Women 'have constant body woes'

Almost a third of women worry about the way their body looks "every waking minute", a survey has found.

The poll of over 5,000 women for Grazia magazine found just one in 50 was happy with the way her body looks, with women wanting to lose an average of 19lbs.

Seven out of 10 women said life would improve if they had "better" bodies.

The Eating Disorders Association said body concerns were not illness - but warned anorexia and bullimia began with a "distorted" body image.

Women had tried a range of extreme measures, such as laxative use and fasting in order to lose weight.

Actress and TV presenter Kelly Brook, famed for her curves, was considered to have the best British female body in the survey.

There's a whole load more in the article here.

Now we could could do one of two things:

1. Have a rational debate about attitudes to women's bodies and the effect that the media and fashion industries have on them.

2. Giggle childsihly and talk about girls bits.

since i've gotten married (six months ago tomorrow!!!) i've put on about 20lbs in weight..
.. so if i lost that i would feel happier altho it's not dominating my life

.. we did buy the arcade style dancemats so we can lose weight and have fun at the same time ha

so for me, this article is quite right.. and i didn't think it would be appropriate for me to laugh about 'girl's bits'

Im with JDK on jubblies - the word is funny and the things themselves rock -

Women do tend to put weight on after marriage (as do men!) coz they think they dont have try anymore - how wrong they are - they may be married but I still want to gork at them so shape up!

This thread is gonna get me into SO much trouble...

hmm.. i dont think you're ever going to have the chance to 'gawk' in this direction dear .. i think the reason i put weight on was because of all the food my lovely husband cooks me..

i do feel like i have to try, he just makes great chilli

.. i am trying

Two of my favourite things in one thread.  Chilli and jubblies.  If only we could find a way to combine them in real life!

This would be 'single' women, we're talking about, here?

I might think the average man worries about women's bodies more than every 15 minutes.

I'm not sure that we worry about women's bodies.  I suspect that we probably actually just think about jubblies quite a lot.
