Ahh... thank ya dahling...


I was in New York City.. moved to Florida on 6/3/04 for a new job. So yep, that would put me dead smack in the middle of Melbourne.


(which, by the way, the locals pronounce "Mel-burn"... drives me crazy cuz there's an "O" in there.. use it! )

No real rednecks, but anyone who was born here still has a southern drawl. You can always tell who was born locally and who wasn't just by how they pronounce the city name. Add the O, they're not local. Don't add the O, Melbourne born and raised.

I live in Nailsea pronounced locally as Nowzee, work in Bristol pronounced locally as Brizzol, and come from Poole pronounced locally as erm...Poole.

Actually it makes quite a lot of sense since they make no attempt to hide that the Florida educational system is one of the worst in the country. Also explains why everyone I've met so far who was born and raised here is under 25 with 4 kids and a divorce under their belt
