As it's a local line, with no big important trains that get priority this made no sense.
I was stuck on a train between stations for 3 hours once between Brockenhurst and Sway (it's on the main Weymouth to Waterloo line so caused muchos chaos) because there were cows on the line and it took 3 hours to move them!!!!!
I thought it was very amusing and since I was with a load of friends going home from college it wasn't too bad (and I had to miss my violin lesson - oh dear).
