OIl prices

Explain this one to me.  I just saw on the news again that the price of gasoline is going up.  The reason they say, is that the price of crude oil is going up.  Now if that is the case, why doesn't the price of a can of oil at the local auto store go up and down.  Why doesn't the price of an oil change go up and down like fuel prices?  It contains crude oil!  I think I'm just plain being lied to.

Remind those of us in the Uk how much you pay for your fuel again...  We'll try and be sympathetic...

Costs me $35 to fill my gas tank :( According to the currency converter that was the first link on google so it has to be correct.. that's £19.7847.

Hmm.

According to this article on the good ol' BBC site, (and it's dated August 05, so prices will have gone up by then), we're paying an average of 90p per litre, while you lucky people in the us are paying $2.37 per gallon.  Nice of 'em to give us a direct comparison.

There's about 3.75 litres to the gallon... so we're paying £3.40 ish per gallon which converts to roughly $5 per gallon.

So... what's your problem again, CZ?

Actually, I don't know how much it's gone up since I just paid $2.37/gal today.

I think the average sump takes about 2.5 - 3 litres of Oil - so you wont see the fluctuations in the price so much...

Right after the Hurricane when gas got up to $3.25/gal, it cost me $80 to fill my tank
Now it is back down to the $50 range.

£60 for a 65 litre tank roughly.

Then it goes and uses it all in about 300 miles. Damm these Frenchie cars!

My beef in this particular discussion is not really about price.  Its rather about the excuse that they give for the price.  I just wish they would be honest and tell me outright that they just want to put it in my arse.
