Where do you post from?

In the JDKs absence I have decided to start a thread - I think we should post pickies depicting the location we do most of our Jammie posting from....

For instance - here is Hengle sitting in my studio where I does most of my posting from...

discuss...

Best I can do is a picture of my building (a crappy picture) for right now. No camera at work

Hmm.  I can't help thinking that Our Stead doesn't seem to have quite grasped the revolutionary concept of Photobucket.

So what is that then?  Other than some cloisters?  Give us a hint!

For my sins, I post from the 14th floor of this building:

Took that photo from the balloon in Castle Park.  I get the impression that Stead is actually after a picture of your actual posting work-space, however, so I'll post a picture of my little study when I get back home tonight and of my desk at work on Mondayish.

I'm in Birmingham this morning, recovering from the effects of last night's Christmas do...

Um...

Clean?

You obviously didn't notice the layers of dust on top of the tower, printer, and behind the keyboard, or the cabling that is so carelessly strewn across the unvaccuumed carpet.

Hmmm, quite right... Sorry, mate, it is a sty.

Did you catch the lower part of the picture of me in spats and kilt, full Scottish military dress actually, in the upper right?

Those are spats, dude. White coverings for what are actually shoes:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=spats

spat
n.
A cloth or leather gaiter covering the shoe upper and the ankle and fastening under the shoe with a strap. Often used in the plural.

And, not optional at St. Andrew's College.

Of course one of the best things about my office is the hardware and software setup I have.

While that box on the lower left looks unassuming, even having been custom built for me a few years back, it's got some serious horse-power under the hood, much much faster than the Thinkpad I bought a few months back. The basic specs are:

Intel Pentium 4, 2.53 GHz, 512 MB DDR RAM (overclocked)

What, only 512 MB of RAM?! But this is DDR RAM, double-data rate, so it performs at about 1,024 MBs of RAM. And, even more importantly, Excel prior to Office 12 has memory caps, I think Excel '03 has a memory cap of 1 Gig, but my memory under the cap moves at double the rate, so using XP, DDR RAM is much, much more efficient than using SD RAM:

What's also nice is the Altec Lansing 621 sound-system I have for the PC, there's a review here:

http://www.ownt.com/hardware/reviews/2003/altec_lansing_621/altec_lansing_621.shtm

200 dedicate watts of power, more powerful than my rack stereo system! Yes!!

It sounds awesome with Microsoft's Media Player V.10!!

I'm not the only one with Transformers in my office then?

That looks suspiciously like the coveted Anniversary Masterpiece Prime you have there!  Can I have it?

Mmmm.

You're a binaltech fan, then? They are very cool.  You'll note that we have one in common.

The Galaxy Force Prime has to be the only decent (new) Prime they've brought out for years.  I need me one of them, too!

God, I'm such a geek...

Ok a small confession then...

They're not mine. They're actually Darrin's... He has more too, but they're on his desk at work. I don't really know a thing about transformers except for the episodes I've watched. He has the G1 boxset from japan and the beastwars set... so I've seen quite a few. The only ones I really know are optimus and silverbolt.

But if you ever feel the need to have a transformers or warhammer conversation, he's your man.

He's warhammer crazy. My kitchen table has been taken over by miniatures.

But he does good work ( http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52855 ) especially considering they're only 28mm tall.

What kind of cigarettes are those, And? Looks mentholy, whatever they are...

Here's the side shot of my office, which includes a futon in case I need to take a nap.

And, becuase I don't smoke inside my place, I hit my patio, just outside my office's windows, which has a killer Minneapolis skyline view:

So cool... Even cooler at night when it's all lit up!

And, unfortuantely, I don't have anything nearly as cool as a Transformer collection. I do however have a crap Beanie Baby collection going, thanks to my twin sister:

Argh! homer

Argh, no!  Not a beanie baby collection!!!  That just drags up too many bad memories of being dragged round toyshops and fairs and...

I have no such impressive view from my office.  Right now it looks like this:

Hmmm, nice view of some waste bins and an old Skoda? What's not to like?

Yeah, I can't figure out why my sister would buy me something like that... It's really not that good for the morale...

What is kind of cool, though, is the Bateman I have above my futon, Midnight - Black Wolf:

Probably the finest piece in my collection...

I fully admit that my office and/or house usually looks like a garbage dump, but it happens that I started my "once every six months cleaning spree" this morning.... so good timing prevailed
