On Friday I said my final goodbye to my much loved & very loving crazy lunatic bundle of fur. Rest in peace would seem a wholly inappropriate sentiment, he always found peace a bit boring! Missing him like crazy.
I think it would be worse leaving them behind, I wouldn't want to inflict that pain on a pet, bad enough going through it myself. It was definitely his time & it helps to have been there for him & to have been able to have him put out of his pain at the end, but there is a very big Shadow shaped hole in my life & it's got very sharp edges.
